CRATING DESIGN~ CASTERS~ TWIST LATCHES & HINGES~ RAMPS~
ELEMENT PROTECTION~ VAPOR BARRIERS~ CRATE BASES
We offer multiple options for shock protection. Shock-mount or Floating-mount bases are available for heavy shock sensitive products.
Both terms refer to the base of the crate, which is manufactured with foam or other components. The base aids to absorb shock and isolate the item inside to prevent handling damage.
TWIST LATCHES & HINGES
Twist latches are added to crates for easier opening & closing of the wood crate, without use of power tools.
Hinges allow easier opening/closing of the crate. Handles can even be added onto some crates. This can create easier handling.
If forklift access is not permissible or available, casters may be added to crates for easier maneuverability.
But beyond the crating aspect, there are also many other options to consider. Each of these additional features can assist in safer and easier transportation of the crate and its contents. These additional options are applicable to crates built on-site as well. These are a few of the options we offer:
Customers have multiple options as to what to provide in order for us to be able to create custom industrial crates. We are flexible and are happy to work with you. Designs can be created from the following:
- Results from the Free Estimate
- Blueprints of the Item from Customer
- Blueprints of a Crate the Customer Designed
- Photo and Measurement of Item from Customer
Once all necessary information is collected, we create the detailed work order, also called a cut sheet. This ensures all parties are on the same page.
Custom designed industrial wood crates are one of the main services we handle day in and day out.
We take the measurements, listen to your specific needs, then design the crate, and add any custom features necessary. Crates can even be built on-site, depending on the customers requirements.
DIE CUT FOAM
In just about every crate we build, die cut foam is a standard. It is one more step we take to give our customers added protection and shock absorption. The foam is yet another detail we add to ensure that we always deliver exceptional quality.
A customized ramp may be constructed on any panel allowing for an easier load/unload process for equipment on wheels.
Skrim tops are added to crates to protect from rain or seepage.
Vapor barriers and vacuum packing provide an air tight enclosure in order to protect your product while traveling overseas or cross-country.
Some of our customers have their own blueprints or drawings of exactly how the wood crate should be.
That is no problem at all. At Crating Technology, we will read the blueprints, create a work order, and then build the custom wood crate. The crate can be built on-site at your location. Or, once the crate is built, we can deliver it.
Other times, customers send blueprints of the actual product that needs crating. This is handled in the same manner. A crate is designed in detail on the work order for customer approval.
